As and LOTR fan and a fan of Bad Media, once I let the bad media side take over I had an ok time in s1. That said it was still wild to hear the budget and then see armor that looked like it had been purchased from party city and how obvious it was that Númenor's harbor was a swimming pool. What did they spend on? I did laugh out loud at the Mordor Rube Goldberg machine and had entirely forgotten Bronwyn until I saw her name again. Even into the second season I spend half of it wondering who anyone was.
While season 2 did correct a lot of problems it did also introduce others. I'm in no way a purists and I questioned some things. At least no one dramatically yelled "I AM GOOD" but I don't know anyone I would encourage to watch unless they somehow really loved the first.
My only complaint is that they never really explained how arondir didn’t die. But I accepted it anyways because I really wanted him to live.
